Bachelor of Building Construction, University of Florida

Bob Mills, a third-generation construction professional, brings more than 20 years of construction expertise and insight to his work. From his start in the industry as a field laborer to the experience gained in his roles as a field engineer, Superintendent, Senior Project Manager and Group Vice President, Bob has obtained the invaluable “real world” problem-solving perspective that he brings to all facets of his duties. He is particularly skilled in managing large, complex and phased projects that involve all building types from new construction to historic renovation.

Having graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction in 1987, Bob worked for Morse Diesel International as a field superintendent on numerous large “fast-track” projects in New York City and gained valuable experience in large-scale building systems and management techniques. He understands the realities of managing both contractors and design professionals and has extensive experience improving upon both the cost and schedule goals of owners.

Upon his relocation to Atlanta, Bob joined Beers Construction Company, where he worked for 10 years. During this time, he rose to the position of Group Vice President of the Public Sector and was responsible for managing of all aspects of this corporate division, which had the primary corporate responsibility to meet the construction needs of all public and private higher-education institutions.

Since assuming the role at UHS of Executive Vice President and Managing Partner, Bob has been directly involved in more than $300 million of on-campus development projects and is directly responsible for the operational efficiency of the development/construction/occupancy process and is personally involved in all aspects of each project.
