Description:
Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) did not have student housing, but as more and more non-local students expressed interest in enrolling at AASU, on-campus housing became critical to continued growth.
UHS was awarded both Phase I and Phase II of the AASU student housing project. The 564-bed development included a Commons Building with laundry facilities and multi-purpose gathering space. The new housing was designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing campus buildings and landscaping. Both phases leased out well before opening, and the student rental retention rate in Phases I and II has been well above 65 percent.
