GSW Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Georgia Southwestern State University is preparing a ribbon cutting ceremony to honor the completion of its new residence halls at 10 a.m. April 27 in the lobby entrance of Southwestern Pines.
Phase one of this two-phase project constructed a 403-bed housing complex, Southwestern Oaks, adjacent to the James Earl Carter Library. It is a 108,000-sq. ft., three-story facility that offers freshman suite-style living accommodations. Southwestern Oaks has been in use since Fall 2006.
The second phase completed a 231-bed apartment-style living center. Adjacent to Deriso Swimming Pool, Southwestern Pines is an 81,000-sq. ft., three-story facility for upperclassmen. Southwestern Pines will be opened for students Fall 2007.
