John M. Prance HallĀ is demolished June 26 as crews prepare to build Georgia Southwestern State University's new Southwestern Pines living center adjacent to the Student Success Center. Part of GSW's $30 million student housing construction project, the three-story, 81,000 square foot facility will feature modern apartment accommodations for 231 upper class students. Construction is scheduled to be complete by Fall 2007, ending a two-year, two-phase effort resulting in a renaissance for on-campus living. Prance Hall was an old-style dormitory completed in 1971 and named for the institution's second president.
